Our teenage hero Bucky Bean is smart, ingenious and adventurous – but he also has an impulsive streak, which sometimes lands him in trouble.

When Bucky isn’t repairing spoon vehicles at the Beantown Garage, he’s racing his own souped-up-spoon named “Scoop,” and dreams of becoming a Champion Spoon Racer. 

Resourceful and energetic, Betty Bean works at the Double Dip, a local teenage hang-out, with her two friends Kim Cone and Cali Fava.

Just as Bucky dreams of being a Champion Spoon Racer, Betty dreams of being a rock star and she’s formed a band with her friends called “Betty and The Windbreakers.” 

Robobean is Snap Bean’s helper, he can lift and carry the heaviest of things, like carrots and colanders, and he can extend his arms to reach into places that are way too high for stubby Snap Bean — which irritates Snap Bean. Since he’s a robot, Robobean always takes things too literally, and that creates a lot of confusion that drives Snap Bean crazy. 

 Puffy and pompous, funny and officious, Mayor Hasbean likes to stroll around Beantown offering advice on every subject. He calls meetings for the flimsiest of reasons so he can remind everyone of his important job. 

 Batty Wannabean is Bucky’s nerdy, but well meaning friend, who works along side him at the Beantown Garage.

Too eager to impress, he’s always hatching some harebrained scheme, but he never follows through on it and always leaves a mess.

Bucky is forever bailing Batty out of some jam. 

 Boss Bean owns and operates the Beantown Garage. Tough but fair, gruff on the outside and kind on the inside, Boss just assumes that Bucky will always mess up a job and he is grudgingly surprised when Bucky succeeds – often in spite of getting some inept help from Batty. 

 Cali is Betty’s other friend who works at the Double Dip and plays in “Betty and The Windbreakers.”
Cali performs all the Latin sounding music. 

 Irwin is a wise explorer who has ventured far and wide in search of the Mighty Beanstalk from which all the beans in Beantown are descended. It’s like the Holy Grail, and whoever finds it will get superpowers. At least that’s what the myth says. Irwin recruits Bucky and Betty to join his quest.
